EXPELLED former Zanu-PF secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa and his nephew Temba Mliswa have lost their parliamentary seats.

The speaker of the national assembly, Jacob Mudenda, declared Mutasa's seat (Headlands) and that of his nephew Temba Mliswa (Hurungwe West), vacant.

Mudenda's Tuesday ruling on Mutasa and Mliswa came after Mutasa had written to Parliament indicating that he should not be recalled from the national assembly as the party did not follow the procedures required in terms of its own constitution.

Meanwhile, Mutasa has lodged a court challenge against President Robert Mugabe and Zanu-PF challenging the decision to expel him from the party.

The court challenge comes soon after Mudenda's ruling.
