War veterans have dismissed as cheap politicking, claims by some lawyers and politicians alleging that President Robert Mugabe intimidated judges by commenting on the court case launched by former Zanu-PF Secretary for Administration, Didymus Mutasa who has been expelled from the party.

War veterans' National Secretary General, Victor Matemadanda said claims that President Mugabe intimidated the judiciary are baseless and misplaced.

Matemadanda said the freedom fighters believe that as a leader of a party cited by the expelled Mutasa, President Mugabe has got a right to comment on the issue.

Mutasa has since joined forces with another expelled member, Rugare Gumbo to file a court case against Zanu-PF, saying the 2014 congress and all its outcomes are illegal.

Zanu-PF has insisted that the party has internal processes which both Mutasa and Gumbo are well aware of but have chosen to ignore due to their arrogance.
