Wife bashed for greeting male neighbour

A Chitungwiza man was sentenced to serve a prison term for tying his wife's leg together and bashing her accusing her of haven an extramarital affair with their neighbour.
The court heard that on January 1 2015, Jonathan Guzhanga (27) had a heated argument with his wife Portia Chibwana (32) whom he accused of having an affair with their neighbour after having seen her greeting him the previous day.
According to the Newsday, Guzhanga tied his wife's legs together with a cloth and assaulted her all over the body using a leather belt.
After the incident, Chibwana moved out of their matrimonial home.
It is reported that on March 9, Guzhanga stormed into Chibwana's new lodgings at night and further assaulted her, this time accusing her of running away from him.
Chibwana sustained injuries on her neck, face, chest and hands.
She reported the matter to police, leading to his arrest.
