A MARRIED man bolted out of the house shouting for help from his neighbours after his wife attacked him.

Brian Tafirenyika could not stomach the abuse in the hands of his wife Anastacia Muponda who bashed and threw his clothes down a drainage pipe.

This is despite the fact that he had acquired a protection order against her.

The woman appeared in court answering to allegations of contempt of court.

She was slapped with $100 fine when she appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Lazarus Murendo.

Failure to pay the fine attracts 30 days imprisonment.

It is said on December 15 last year the complainant was given a protection order against Muponda.

The court heard that on March 8, Tafirenyika packed his clothes as he wanted to go to his second wife's house.

The woman came and grabbed him asking if he still loved her.

She took the complainant's clothes and began tearing them and threw them in a drainage pipe. She went on to assault him several times, slapping and biting him.

Tafirenyika reportedly bolted out of the house, shouting for help and was rescued by his neighbours by stopping Muponda from hurling stones at his vehicle.

The complainant approached the police leading to her arrest.

Prosecutor Norman Koropi appeared for the State.
