Zimbabwe to launch livelihood and food security programme

Zimbabwe government has indicated that it will be launching $72 Million Livelihoods and Food Security Programme (LFSP) in Zimbabwe to be launched on 19 March 2015
Programme is set to increase incomes and reduce poverty among smallholder farming households in chronically food and nutrition insecure districts.
"The United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID) will on 19 March 2015 launch a US$72 million Livelihoods and Food Security Programme (LFSP) to be implemented over four years in selected districts in Manicaland, Mashonaland Central and Midlands Provinces," reads a notice by stakeholders.
This four year programme will contribute to poverty reduction through increased incomes and targets 126,975 smallholder men and women farmers in eight districts namely, Manicaland Cluster (1): Mutare, Makoni, Mutasa, Mashonaland Central Cluster (2): Guruve, Mt Darwin, Midlands Cluster (3): Kwekwe, Gokwe South, Shurugwi
The government and diplomats involved in the launch are Joseph Made Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development, her Excellency, Ambassador Catriona Laing, Britain's Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Annabel Gerry, Head of DFID Zimbabwe,
