Bulawayo South MP Eddie Cross (MDC-T) and Chipinge South MP Enock Porusingazi yesterday escaped contempt of Parliament charges when Speaker of the National Assembly Jacob Mudenda ruled that the charges did not constitute a contempt.

In Cross's case Mudenda said the allegations of contempt of Parliament were raised by chairman of the Finance and Economic Portfolio Committee David Chapfika where the Bulawayo South Legislator is a member.

The Speaker said after studying the matter, he did not come up with the conclusion that the allegations did justify contempt of Parliament charges on Cross.

On Porusingazi Mudenda chairman of the Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Development Committee Justice Wadyajena had said that the MP had published statements which had an import of prejudicing the work of the committee.

The story had said Porusingazi had rubbished the report on Green Fuel saying it was full of political undertones.
