Caps United goalie on maintenance

CAPS UNITED goalkeeper Jorum Muchambu is involved in a bitter maintenance wrangle with his former girlfriend Anna Marema who is claiming US$300 from him for the upkeep of their three-year-old son.
The matter was heard at the Harare civil court and was presided over by magistrate Kamangira-Samukange.
"I am a footballer by profession and I earn US$220 per month so the money I am prepared to pay as maintenance is US$30.
"I also have three other children and a wife whom I am also looking after so the US$300 that she is claiming is beyond what I can afford," said Jorum.
Justifying her claim, Anna told the court that the US$300 that she wanted from Jorum would cater for the needs of the child.
"He is a footballer and he plays for CAPS UNITED and every month he earns US$500 so from that amount I want him to give me US$300 as maintenance.
"I am aware that he has a wife and three other children but my child is still young and needs much more attention," said Anna.
The presiding magistrate deferred the matter to March 26 to allow Anna to inquire at CAPS United how much Jorum earns per month.
