AFTER being caught red handed in bed with another man, a Harare woman now lives in fear of her life as her husband is assaulting and threatening her with death.
Irene Gore, approached Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her husband Aloise Chirenda.
"He jumped over the fence, broke down the door and assaulted me in the process.
"I had barred him from my home," she said.
Chirenda said she is still his wife and he is entitled entry into their home.
"She blocked the doorway to our bed-room prompting me to push her out of the way.
"I then discovered that she had hidden another man in the room," he said.
Irene did not deny that she was now staying with her new boyfriend.
"I was in Mutare when he told me that he had come to my house and taken all his belongings and moved out so I did not expect him to be back," she said.
After the incident, she said Chirenda still threatens her.
The presiding magistrate ruled in her favour and granted her a protection order against assaults and verbal abuse.
