'Leave Grace Alone' - Muchinguri

One of the architects behind the sacking of former Vice President Joice Mujuru Oppah Muchinguri has attacked the private media for what she termed speculative stories on First Lady Grace Mugabe's health condition.

Muchinguri, a Zanu PF politburo member said Grace's seeking of medical care was not out of the ordinary as she was also a human being.

Muchinguri's attacks come in the wake of reports that Grace had sneaked out of the country to seek medical care in Dubai.

She said Grace, suffering from appendicitis after her recent surgery, had been advised by her doctors to go back for check-ups.

"I see nothing wrong with her seeking medical attention and going back for a review.

"She is a human being who falls sick. Why is it a big deal when it's the First Lady and not any other person?

"Dr Mugabe is the First Lady of the country and a mother to all of us. Instead of making so much noise about her trips to seek medical attention, people should be praying for her.

"It's only detractors who blow things out of proportion and try to divert us from developmental issues"

Muchinguri was part of the team that backed Grace as she attacked Mujuru in the run up to the Zanu PF congress last year.

Mujuru was accused of among other things trying to overthrow and or assassinate President Robert Mugabe
