Woman bashes beer loving hubby

A Bulawayo woman set upon her husband with an iron bar for choosing to go and drink beer with his friend, instead of going home with her.

Patrons at Basic Sports bar in Tshabalala where treated to a free movie when Regina Ndlovu (32) refused to go home and leave her husband Richard Muchogo (36) drinking beer with his friend.

Muchogo tried to force his wife to stop drinking beer and go home.

After causing a scene, Ndlovu left, seething with fury and hatched a plan to fix Muchogo.

When he finally got home, Ndlovu rained slaps on a bewildered Muchogo.

She allegedly grabbed an iron bar and smacked him on the mouth, leaving him with a split lip.

Facing a charge of physical abuse, Ndlovu appeared before Provincial magistrate Willard Maphios Moyo and pleaded not guilty.

She was sentenced to a wholly suspended three months in prison on condition that she does not commit a similar offense within that period.

Ndlovu said her husband got injured when his friends tried to bungle him into a car.

Magistrate Moyo said it was unlady-like to assault her husband and warned her against being violent in future.
