Zimbabwe's feared Retired General Solomon Mujuru has died

Zimbabwe's most decorated post independence army general and Zimbabwe Vice President Joice Mujuru's husband, Retired General Solomon Mujuru has died.

He was 62.

Mujuru died last night at his Beatrice farm, Harare South, where he is said to have been burnt to death reported NewsDay.

Circumstances surrounding the burning of the house in which he was are yet to be disclosed.

He was regarded as one of the most feared men in Zimbabwean politics.

Mujuru, who was powerful and influential in Zimbabwean politics, also had a vast business empire across all key sectors of the economy.

The general owned a significant stake in River Ranch Diamond Mine in Beitbridge among other business interests.

Ncube said Retired General Solomon Mujuru was a big player in the succession battle in ZANU PF and his death further complicates things

Faith Zaba twitted: General Solomon Mujuru has died. Close family friends told me he burnt inside his Beatrice farm house.

Zaba said, "Spoke to General Mujuru 3wks ago on succession, aspiring candidates. He gave me his thoughts".
