Public members warned not to board over loaded kombis during holiday

The Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe has started circulating messages through the mobile communication numbers to members of the public warning them never to board on overloaded kombis during the Easter holidays in efforts to scale down the 4rate of road carnages along Zimbabwe's high ways.

In a message sent to an Econet lines TSCZ said, "Do not board an over loaded bus."

"It is safer to travel during the day than at night."

The messages come at a time when the world is geared to celebrate the Easter holiday which starts on Friday this week amid concern an escalation of accidents during each and every holiday as a result of numerous errors with both the passengers and the motorists contributing to the accidents.

Most of Zimbabwe's major roads are already busy as the nation gears for 5the holiday and those working outside the country such as in South Africa and Botswana have started trooping in to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Numerous vehicles with South Africa number plates are seen driving in the city of Bulawayo since the start of the weekend on Friday.
