The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) in Bulawayo has announced that it will stage a demonstration against government over various issues of concerns which are affecting workers across the country.

The labour movement has called for all workers in Bulawayo to take part in the march.

In a flyer distributed around the city of Bulawayo by the ZCTU Western Region it is announced that the workers will gather at the ZCTU offices at corner George Silundika and 13th Avenue in the city on April 11, 2015.

"All workers in the area of Bulawayo are invited to participate in the peaceful demonstration to voice workers concerns over the infringement of workers' rights," reads the flyer.

The flyer indicates that the march will start at 10am to 12 noon.

"The demonstration will end with delivery of a petition to the honourable minister of labour and social services concerning the following issues, piece meal amendments of the labour Act, call by Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor to freeze wages and salaries, labour market flexibility. United we stand divided we fall," reads the flyer.

This comes at a time when many companies have closed show in Bulawayo while thousands of workers have lost their jobs while some have gone for as far as more than a year without full pay.
