Easter holiday has over the years been characterised by a lot of travelling as people visit friends and family in rural areas or neighbouring towns.
For Christians it is a time to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
A visit to various boarding points such as Mbare Musika showed a low turn out of travellers with most buses being empty.
Vendors and transport operators have equally been affected by this situation as they relied on such holidays to boost their business.
Government has appealed to transport operators to exercise caution during the Easter holiday and warned of a heavy presence of both the police and members of the vehicle inspectorate department (VID) to ensure that sanity prevails on the roads.
