A 25-year old Harare woman Abigail Nyoni was stabbed 11 times by her estranged husband Sydney Mudiro and she died on the spot.
Abigail who had two children with her husband was on separation with Mudiro and was tracked down to House Number 308 Ushewokunze Phase 1.
In an incident that has left Ushewokunze residents in shock, 28 year old Mudiro is alleged to have stabbed his wife of nine years twice on the heart and nine times on the back and neck after the wife had left him to go and stay with another man in the same neighbourhood.
A neighbour Mr Douglas Chidhakwa who tried to intervene during the fracas was also stabbed on the arm as he tried to restrain Mudiro from stabbing his wife.
Mudiro's mother Mrs Rosemary Mudiro, an eyewitness Kudakwashe Marwisa and Member of Parliament for the area Cde Shadreck Mashayamombe who were consoling the mother-in-law condemned the killing saying couples should find amicable ways of solving domestic disputes rather than resorting to violence.
The boyfriend has since fled from the house where the two were staying and Mudiro is now in police custody.
According to the mother-in-law, Abigail's relatives who are in Bulawayo have been informed about their daughter's death but are refusing to attend the funeral.
Abigail had two children Nyasha aged 6 and Brianna aged 3 with Mudiro.
