MDC-T condemns recent by-elections as fraudulent

The country's main opposition MDC-T has described the recent Chirumanzu-Zibangwe and Mt Darwin West by-elections won by Zanu-PF as fraudulent and characterised by rigging and intimidation of voters with the alleged collusion of the Zimbabwean Electoral Commission.

The party statement said that the MDC is convinced that Zec is completely and utterly incapable of conducting elections that will pass the test of legitimacy saying that the Zec secretariat is still militarized and packed with State affiliated security agents and other Zanu-PF regime apologists.

The party further said while Zec commissioners were decent and honourable men and women they were unaware of Zanu-PF's rigging machinery.
