No money for by-elections

With only two months before the pending 20 by-elections in different constituencies, the broke Zanu-PF government is yet to avail the required funding.

The by-elections, to be held in June, were occasioned by the expulsion of MPs-two from Zanu-PF and 14 from the MDC-T.

The elections are in serious doubt as it emerged this week that the ZEC, the organ mandated to run all national elections, is bankrupt and has no money needed for the by-elections.

Meanwhile, the Dumiso Dabengwa-led Zapu has broken ranks and reversed its decision against contesting in the forthcoming by-election arguing it was ill-advised for opposing parties to give away seats to Zanu-PF on a silver platter.
