Journalists petition Econet over media raid

Zimbabwe Journos congregate as they prepare to go and hand over petition on The Source raid toSteward Bank and Econet Zimbabwe.

More than 100 journalists under MISA-Zimbabwe and ZUJ today submitted a petition to Steward Bank and Econet Wireless expressing their disapproval of the two companies' raid on the Source news agency last month.

The company and its banking unit, Steward Bank, obtained an order a last week to have stories published by The Source withdrawn and conduct a search and seize operation at the agency.
