The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions today announced that all systems were ready to go for its demonstrations this Saturday in all the six major cities and towns as the police has cleared the ZCTU to stage the peaceful protests.

"Initially the police in the cities of Bulawayo, Mutare and Masvingo had refused to grant permission for the demonstrations, but changed their minds taking a cue from the Harare police which had agreed. The ZCTU had also challenged the police decision in the High Court. The High Court was expected to hear the matter today at 1430 hrs," reads ZCTU statement released at 4pm.

"The demonstrations will take place on Saturday 11th of April 2015 from 1000hrs to 1200hrs in the following centres: Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru , Mutare, Masvingo and Chinhoyi."

The ZCTU said workers will assemble at the ZCTU Regional Offices in the above cities and towns and march to the Offices of the Resident Ministers to present their petitions. In the case of Harare, the petition will be handed over to the Minister of Labour.
