Mutasa to contest nomination papers rejection

Expelled former Zanu-PF secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa yesterday said he was going to contest the rejection of his nomination papers for the Headlands constituency by-election on Wednesday.

This was after Zimbabwe Electoral Commission provincial officer Moffat Masabeya rejected Mutasa's nomination on a Zanu-PF ticket saying the former legislator's papers were not supported by a letter from the ruling party.

Mutasa was fired from Zanu-PF and recalled from Parliament recently before President Robert Mugabe set June 10 as the date for the by-elections.

But Mutasa yesterday accused Zec of politically persecuting him.
