Mugabe heads back home after attending the Luanda Sadc Summit

The President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, left Thursday Luanda, back to his country after having attended the 31st Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

 

The Zimbabwean Statesman was seen off at Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport by minister of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security, Pitra Neto, vice-governor of Luanda, Juvelina Imperial, and  Staff of diplomatic representation of his country.

 

The delegation led by Robert Mugabe integrates minister of Foreign Affairs, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, and other government senior officials and experts.

 

Joseph Kabila was the first statesman to leave Angola, during a break after an opening session marked by speeches delivered by the presidents of Angola and Namibia, respectively, José Eduardo dos Santos and Lucas Pohamba.
 
The session also received address by SADC executive secretary, Tomaz Salomão, the chairman of the African Union Commission, Jean Ping, and other figures.

 

Attending the SADC meeting opening ceremony were also the presidents of Mozambique, Armando Gebuza, South Africa, Jacob Zuma, Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, Namibia, Lucas Pohamba, DR Congo, Joseph Kabila and King of Swaziland, Mswati III.

 

The prime-ministers of Lesoth, Pakalitha Musisili, and Zimbabwe, Morgan Tsvangirai, as well as the vice-presidents of Tanzania, Mohammed Gharib,  Zambia, George Konda, and Botswana, Monpati Merafhe, also witnessed the event.
