Harare Women's league boss extort cash using Grace Mugabe's name

THE ZANU PF purges of members continues with a cheeky Harare Women's League chairperson Ratidzo Mukarati suspended for allegedly abusing the name of First Lady Grace Mugabe to extort money from party members.
Mukarati is also accused for accused of corruption and fanning factionalism.
According to NewsDay, Mukarati reportedly labelled by other party members as belonging to former Vice-President Joice Mujuru's perceived "Gamatox" faction and for demanding money from them as protection fees.
In a letter dated April 13 2015 signed by provincial vice-chairman Robert Kahanana, her accusers alleged: "That sometime in or around March 2015 in Harare, you approached Cde Mavis Gumbo and demanded cash in return for protection from being falsely labelled a malcontent (Gamatox). As a result, you were given $1 000 cash and an assortment of clothes. This action amounts to extortion and is a very serious offence."
The letter was copied to provincial chairman Godwills Masimirembwa, Vice-President Phelekezela Mphoko who heads the national disciplinary committee, national secretary for administration Ignatius Chombo and national secretary for the Women's League, Grace Mugabe, among others.
The paper said her case has been referred for a disciplinary hearing scheduled for April 27 this year.
