A shebeen owner and his colleague allegedly killed a reveller at the shebeen over a $2 debt.
Joseph Mapa (27) and Tatenda Foot (28), both from Waterfalls, Harare, reportedly used a brick and a club to fatally assault the man.
The pair yesterday appeared in court before magistrate Tendai Mahwe charged with murder.
They were remanded in custody to April 27 and advised to apply for bail at the High Court. Prosecutor Idah Maromo alleged that on April 11, Mapa and Foot were at Mapa's shebeen when an argument arose between the now deceased's brother and Mapa over a $2 debt.
The now deceased joined the altercation in a bid to help his brother, the court heard. Mapa, it is alleged, then picked up a brick and struck the now deceased on the head and he fell on the ground.
Foot allegedly then took a club and assaulted the man all over his body while he was lying down leading to his death.
