Zapu denounces xenophobic attacks in SA
15 Apr 2015 at 12:18hrs | Views
ZAPU has expressed grave concern on the on-going xenophobic attacks in South Africa's saying they coincided with President Mugabe's state visit when "his children were murdering Mugabe's children on the implicit instructions of Zwelithini."
The party said Mugabe was scared to denounce the attacks as he was "begging for cash".
Below is the full statement released on Wednesday:
ZAPU is concerned and alarmed at the xenophobic attacks on foreigners and particularly Zimbabweans in the supposedly rainbow nation of South Africa. it is even more worrying that these killings took place during a state visit by the Zimbabwean President to South Africa. Even while Zuma wined, dined and danced the night away with Mugabe his children were murdering mugabe's children on the implicit instructions of Zwelithini who obviously felt he had to justify his billion rand squandering of the taxpayers money by weighing in with misguided and ill informed comments. Besides marrying wives younger than his own children what else does that monarch know? Certainly not economics and its dynamics. And certainly not international relations if his comments are anything to go by.
Mugabe, mindful of the fare on Zuma's table and the begging bowl that is the only constant in his globe-trotting luggage, kept quiet about the murders of his citizens. He instead embarassed his host by insulting a white journalist whose only crime was to be present when a question was posed to Mugabe during a tour of the Pietersen Museum. It was an insult to the memory of that young man and hundreds of thousands of other youths who have given their lives in Africa for the establishment of a non-racist society. He is so obsessed with his racist agenda that he chose to see a white face instead of the blood of black people on the streets.
As a party that has its roots in people power ZAPU is therefore calling on all Zimbabweans to boycott the scheduled shows of South African artists this weekend. We find it disgusting that these artsists will want us to dance to their music on our lamented independence day. What bad taste. Dance while their brothers are murdering our brothers!!!! We say no to this insensivity.
LET US BOYCOTT THIS SHOW AND ALL SHOWS UNTIL SOUTH AFRICA REALISES THAT WE CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR GDP AS EQUAL PARTNERS AND NOT AS POOR COUSINS.
