Zimbabwe information star Professor Jonathan Moyo has this morning flatly denied that former Vice-President Joice Mujuru has lost her salary and benefits.
Today, NewsDay ran a story alleging that the Zimbabwe government has reportedly withdrawn most of former Vice-President Joice Mujuru's State-funded benefits including security staff as the Zanu-PF regime intensifies its campaign to reduce her to an ordinary citizen after expelling her from the ruling party and government.
It quoted an unnamed and well-placed source close to her confirmed the developments who said government had advised her staff that their contracts would be terminated at the end of last month.
Prof Moyo tweeted, "No need for twar with @VTKAHIYA or @TrevorNcube. But this story is false & @NewsDayZimbabwe didn't check with me!"
He included Media guru, Trevor Ncube, who was recently engaged on a social media spate with Prof Moyo after accusing the minister of being a bully, in the conversation and Ncube quickly responded by saying, "Thank you @ProfJNMoyo for brining this to my attention. Will follow up with Harare team @VTKAHIYA @NewsDayZimbabwe."
Prof Jonathan Moyo added that "nobody can take away her constitutional entitlements. NO! Delayed disbursements, maybe."
Moyo indicated that, "delay would be on payment of her terminal benefits & not to salary, she's on payroll."
He thanked Ncube for being proactive saying, "I'm humbled. Siyabonga, eNcube."
