ZBC staffer dies in horrific car crash

ZBC Voice of Zimbabwe Senior Maintenance Technician, Mugove Vitalis Masimbire, affectionately known by many as PD, has died.

He was 41.

Masimbire died on admission at Gweru Provincial Hospital after being involved in a horrific car crash in the early hours of today along Senga road with three other people who died on the spot.

The vehicle they were  travelling in veered off the road and hit a tree.

Masimbire was born on the 13th of April 1974 in Dzenga, Kadoma.

He did his O-Level at St Ignatius College before graduating with a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering in Radio Communication at Bulawayo Polytechnic college in 2001.

He then joined the ZBC Engineering Department in December 2002 as a technician.

In 2007, he was appointed Senior Technician and transferred to Voice of Zimbabwe in Gweru.

In 2011, he was further appointed to the position of Senior Maintenance Technician, a position he held until his time of death.

ZBC Human Resources Manager, Mr Takudzwa Chiturumani said ZBC has lost a hard working and dedicated employee.

Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
