"We deplore violence and criminality of any kind and we stand shoulder to shoulder with all African victims of xenophobic attacks currently going on in South Africa" Mr Christopher Maphosa said.

Mr Christopher Maphosa is the ZAPU Europe Chairperson who has charisma in the mould of Nelson Mandela. Speaking yesterday in their Provincial Executive meeting, he asked everyone to observe a minute of silence in solidarity with the xenophobic victims.

"Africa we are one, this is not political rhetoric, but realities of existence, South Africans were all over Africa during the apartheid era, they were never attacked, they were never humiliated by fellow Africans, but they were supported in waging a war against the apartheid regime," Mr Maphosa continued.

Meanwhile, Mr Maphosa reported that the arrangements for this year's ZAPU Europe Provincial AGM are at an advanced stage.

"The AGM is going to be on the 2nd May 2015, in Leicester,  at 19 Westcotes Drive, LE3 0QT, we will deliberate on many issues, major among them are the preparations of the Party's National Congress which is expected sometime this year around August" Mr Maphosa said.

Dr Dumiso Dabengwa was elected the substantive President of the Party in 2010, his mandate was to ensure that the Party is successfully revived, structured and constituted. Today the Party is strong, vibrant and visible everywhere.

The National Congress is ZAPU's highest decision making organ responsible for electing its national leadership and for strategic Policy formulation.  It is getting interesting to see who will emerge as leaders of the Party and what their mandate would be.
