A Harare man yesterday told the civil court that he was finding it difficult to continue living under the same roof with his mother-in-law who was in the habit of wearing mini-skirts and shorts inside the house.
Emmanuel Hamba claimed his mother-in-law was also bringing boyfriends into his house. Hamba made the revelations at the Harare Civil Court where he had been dragged by his wife, Stembeni Mlauzi, who was seeking a protection order against him.
"I need a protection order because each time my husband comes home drunk at night, he insults me calling my mother a prostitute and breaking our matrimonial property," she said.
Mlauzi told magistrate Mr Trevor Nyatsanza that Hamba was in the habit of smashing her mobile phone whenever he gets violent.
Hamba denied the allegations by Mlauzi and instead accused her of not reprimanding her mother for wearing shorts and mini-skirts in the house.
"We are always having problems with my wife because she listens to gossip and starts to interrogate me," Hamba said.
Mr Nyatsanza granted the order in Mlauzi's favour.
