Jonathan Moyo commends SA for deploying army to 'end xenophobic attacks'

Zimbabwe's Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo on Tuesday commended South Africa's move to deploy army in "Alex township and KZN to end xenophobic attacks." 

Moyo said via twitter today: "The just announced deployment of SA's National Defence Forces in Alex township & KZN to end xenophobic attacks is a commendable action!"

According to Eye Witness News, South Africa's Minister of Defence Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula today announced that the "South African National Defence Force (Sandf) will be deployed to Alexandra to deal with the xenophobic attacks."

The publication reports that "the army has been seen arriving this afternoon and it's understood the soldiers will conduct a walkabout from 6pm."

Alexandra township is located next to Sandton, an affluent area situated within the metro of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
