Zanu-PF National Political Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere has nullified last week's suspension and expulsion of some party members in Mashonaland East Province.

The Mashonaland East provincial interim executive last week passed a vote of no confidence on Acting Provincial Chairman, Aeneas Chigwedere, and recommended the suspension and expulsion of 19 other members.

However, on his visit to the province, Kasukuwere reversed the decisions and slammed the provincial interim executive for engaging in power fights at the expense of restructuring the party.

Warning members against using the party's name in settling personal scores, Kasukuwere accused the members fingered in the no confidence vote of neglecting pertinent party issues and choosing the route of hunger for power.

Kasukuwere's move received a thumbs-up from Politburo member, Dr Sydney Sekeramayi, who hailed it for bringing order to the province.

The interim executive has also been given an order to complete the restructuring exercise by next month.

The meeting was also attended by Politburo member Mike Bimha, Senate President Edna Madzongwe, who is leading the team conducting the restructuring in the province, as well as legislators and Central Committee members from the province.
