Zimbabwe Air Force pilots survive fighter plane crash

Two people survived an Air Force of Zimbabwe jet trainer aircraft crash that occurred early Thursday at Thornhill Airbase in Gweru.

According to ZBC, the Zimbabwe Defence Forces Brigadier General John Mupande - Director General Policy, Public Relations and International Affairs has confirmed the accident but says there were no casualties as the two pilots on board ejected from the plane and escaped in parachutes.

The plane crashed in an open field and no injuries or destruction of property was recorded.

A board of inquiry will be set to investigate the possible cause of the crash in line with aviation and military protocol.
