Zanu PF youth members has attacked politicians for using the youths in their political expedience at the same time failing to create jobs for them.

Fidelis Fengu posted on his Facebook wall that young people of Zimbabwe are hungry, tired of political rhetoric and certainly exasperated from being condomised by some some politicians. He said the youth are only used for political expediency and ditched after the politicians have achieved their goals.

"The Zimbabwean youth now wants results, not statistics or reports but results in the form of sustainable livelihoods," he posted.

"For example if there was a youth desk in the ministry of lands every young person in Zimbabwe would have hope that they will get a piece of land."

He said the desk would know the demand and then create a systematic way of meeting the demand.

He said this would really go a long way towards creating employment for the youth and delivering holistic empowerment.

"Every Bank also needs to have a youth desk as the young people of this country have a bearing on the performance on the financial services sector of this country," he said.

He said there is a need for the youth policy to be revisited to ensure that it empowers youths indicating that companies, and institutions that impede the implementation and progress of the youth policy document are committing economic sabotage and should have strong punitive measures against them , and those that are propelling the youth development agenda should be given incentives and rewards for contributing to the development of a better future for this country.

"The youth council should be a serious body that has teeth , is effective and has the capacity to preside over the creation of a viable youth bank or financial institution to finance , and insure the economic endeavours of young people. Currently the youth council is struggling and uninspiring to the young people of Zimbabwe," he said.

Moamed Tapiwa Mureja said besides the fact that the Act needs to be amended there is no cohesion or unity of purpose within the council there is scatter gun approach when it comes to articulating issues or formulation or implementation if projects they only converge and work together when they realise they are monies to be pocketed. "That criminal approach to conducting their business has made them more redundant other than the Youth Act itself," he said.

Felex Marongedza said another problem is the revolutionary party has been hijacked by chancers and criminals who see the party as a ticket to self aggrandisement.

"Some have even admitted as much on this and other fora," he said.

"The party needs to weed these malcontents out. There are so many patriotic hardworking people out there. These same people when thrust in positions of power they recruit everyone to be as corrupt as they are. If you don't tow this corruption line you are fired. People are using Zanu PF as a ticket to corruptly and unprocedurally enrich themselves."
