Litmus test for Tsvangirai
30 Apr 2015 at 07:00hrs | Views
MDC-T president Morgan Tsvangirai faces another stern test to his leadership following his decision to enforce a congress resolution ordering them not participate in any election that is not predicated on reforms.
Tsvangirai's stance has rattled the party, with reports suggesting that the MDC-T leader is just attempting to put on a brave face in order to hide the ructions playing out in the 16-year old movement.
Reports indicate that Tsvangirai and his deputy, Thokozani Khupe, are trying hard to manage their fallout over the issue.
Khupe wants the party to participate in the by-election and has been conspicuous by her absence at Tsvangirai's rallies meant to explain to his supporters the decision not to participate.
Her absence betrays the disquiet in the MDC-T.
