A 15-YEAR-OLD Chipinge boy hanged himself over a $1 wrangle with his young brother last week.

Chipinge District police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Blessing Kadzuraumera confirmed the incident which occurred at Mugare Village under Chief Mutema's area last Sunday.

Asst Insp Kadzuraumera said: "On the day in question, the late Daniel Maruva had a misunderstanding with his 11-year-old young brother (name supplied) over $1 which he had stolen from him.

"Daniel then wrote a note stating that he wanted to take his life because of the misunderstanding.
"He placed the note in his bedroom hut.

"Daniel proceeded to a nearby bush about 300 metres away from his homestead and hanged himself on a tree using a rope.

His body was later discovered by Edralyn Muruva (23) of the same village who was looking for her cattle in the bush.

"Edralyn then informed other relatives and they rushed to the scene and reported the matter to the police who attended the scene and recovered the suicidal note written by Daniel," he said

Ass Insp Kadzuraumera said no foul play was suspected.

Chipinge magistrate, Mr Noah Gwatidzo, waived the post mortem.
