Grace Mugabe told, 'Investors are needed in Zimbabwe'

The first lady Grace Mugabe has been told that what is needed in the country are not only remarks that the country faces economic crisis but the investor confidence which will attract investors to come into the country and open business for the people to get jobs and survive.
The remarks came after the first lady was quoted in the media as saying Zimbabwe is facing economic crisis leading to thousands of educated youths finding themselves on the streets.
During a tour of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) stands on Thursday, Grace said Zimbabwean companies need to do more to satisfy the local market with the surplus being exported.
"This is the way forward, this is the key to the development, the key to employment generation because we are talking about the youths who after having been educated are finding themselves on the streets," she is quoted saying.
"Despite the fact that the economy is not performing well, I can see enthusiasm amongst our people, that they would want to showcase what they are producing, you know and what they are manufacturing, I can say I am very much impressed with what I am seeing this year," said Grace.
"I know times are hard, but we are a resilient people and that's why we are here and showcasing what we are producing so that people from
Grace added that industries are struggling to absorb graduates.
"And what I have always said is that we have so many institutions, educational institutions and these other facilities where people are getting skills training, you are giving them the fishing rod but haven't got the lake where they are going to do the fishing but with all that is happening here we are saying now there is the lake where you can go and fish," she said.
He remarks were criticised by Ines Costa who said,"Dear first lady what we need is investors ...open market .....industrial development ......distribution and transportation of our economic back bone mining and agriculture and then we will see results because we need a solid bread basket of trade and then we can consider return of Zimbabwe dollar and placement on stock exchange, because as it is we are doing nothing going no where ......we need backing of International Monitory Fund (IMF) and that is a fact."
Florence Alubi said, "I am sure most of our people who are staying abroad can invest in our country. But the problem is when someone start a good business and you see that he is succeeding the top dogs of Zanu PF just jump in aad take over.Now everyone is afraid to invest in our own country and as long it is like that it will never be a better Zimbabwe."
Patson Ndoro said the first lady must stop blaming the companies and return all what Zanu PF has stolen from the companies.
Mthokozisi Mahlabayithwale Nkomo said, "Grace where is the 2 million jobs? Two years no gone there is nothing."
