A survey on trust in Zimbabwe has found that 63 percent of citizens say they trusted President Robert Mugabe.
The survey shows that only a third of Zimbabweans trust opposition parties, which is bad news for the opposition as it looked ahead to polls in three years' time.
This is the kind of news Mugabe and his government will find very comforting, especially given the current economic difficulties.
The poll was carried out last November by the Mass Public Opinion Institute in conjunction with Afrobarometer and the results aren't at all what the opposition will want to hear.
At least 70 percent of Zimbabweans living in rural areas say that they trust Mugabe "somewhat" or even "a lot".
That figure drops to 50 percent in urban areas but it is still significant.
A former advisor to opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai says this could mean that Mugabe will stand in the 2018 elections.
