Zanu PF's chaotic land reform program was never genuine

Social commentators have said the land reform programme approved by the Zanu PF government was chaotic and never genuine as it only benefited the elite few at the expense of the Zimbabwean masses who were looking up to getting land.
Revesayi Mutede Makubalo said It is now emerging, rather crudely that the Zanu PF chaotic land reform was never genuine nor about redressing past colonial imbalances, but a shameful vote buying, patronage jamboree meant to prop up the regime's waning fortunes.
"The current re-invasion and vandalism now targeted at the once Zanu PF members now turned Zanu PF enemies," said Makubalo."I think we need a complete overhaul of this government. It was a mere Mugabe trade mark emotive reaction to challenge," he said.
"This was just a haphazard grab and destroy policy in reaction to the naive the then white community's equally naive public support of MDC."
Itai Mautu said "I think we are cowards. Too much complains on face book yet zero action on the ground. Right now they are harassing Themba Mliswa and Hurungwe electors, most of us aren't concerned because it's not happening to us or our relative or loved one but come 2018, what's going on in Hurungwe West will take place countrywide. Lets wake up and post less on face book and act on the ground."
Ndaba Nhuku said "Sadly most of those on fb are not on the ground, or in Zim, and some can not even tell where Hurungwe is!!"
Ronald said Rhodesia the country used to export vast quantities of maize, how is it possible that the indigenous with all the infrastructure left to them by the white farmers could let this happen.
"The senile dotard is doddering on his last feet - he wants to die aboard a plane! His acolytes are fretting . . . . They know that once the senile old fool goes they have a lot to answer for. A lot !" he said.
Bornfree Kurauone said "We said it from the beginning that the land invasions were done to punish white farmers and their workers for supporting the MDC. Zanu PF is only concerned about retaining power
Brain Mari asked if land reform was by government ,for the benefit of the government why would a seating regime invade or use violence to its citizens to effect a policy? We never heard that the farmers were issued with eviction orders and resisted. " If we are to say there was never land reform but property looting," he said.
Jonathan Chando said the land reform was started by invasions with the people of Svosve and Nyamandlove invading farms. Mugabe ordered the then Governor of Mashonaland East, Edmund Garwe to have them arrested.
"When invasions spontaneously increased across the country, Mugabe realised he was going against the people and decided to take advantage and legitimise land invasion for his own expedience. He never wanted to take farms from the whites," he said.
