Zimbabwean man contest and lose UK elections

Joshua Chigwangwa, a Zimbabwean who contested the just-ended British national elections, won by the Conservative party, believes that immigrants should always participate in these important polls.

He told VOA Studio 7 this will ensure that foreigners fight for their rights in a nation where immigration is top on the agenda for the Conservative party.

Chigwangwa ran on a Labour ticket in the Panshanger Ward for the Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council.

According to his profile on Zimbabwe Achiever's Awards website, Chigwangwa started off his career in Public Sector in Zimbabwe specializing in Local Government Finance and supporting implementation of the Civil Service Reforms to focus on mission statements and results oriented service delivery ethos.
