Zanu PF legislators have reportedly been banned from raising economic issues in parliament amid reports that it exposes President Mugabe and put him in an awkward position.

The order is said to have came from Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa and Environment minister Saviour Kasukuwere.

According to NewsDay, Chinamasa  said this when briefing MPs about the economic difficulties.

"They gave an example that we should avoid asking questions as when will government pay farmers who would have delivered crops to GMB because this would expose governments empty purse" an MP is quoted saying.

Chinamasa said the country owed most countries and institutions in the West and East and they no longer willing to lend Zimbabwe any money," added the unnamed MP.

Zanu chief whip Jorum Gumbo confirmed that the meeting took place.

" If its true that the two ministers indeed gagged the MPs, they are out of order. If I was there I would not have allowed such a thing to be said to our MPs.

"It's an infringement on their rights."
