Zimbabwean government has been accused of closing the democratic space by allegedly disallowing the white race from consisting any election while in Britain even African Nationals who have stayed in that country for a long time are allowed to contest the polls.

The environment in Zimbabwe does not allow free participation of the white people in the election though there might be no binding electoral law which prohibits them from contesting the elections.

Zanu PF is on records as attacking the MDC-T for siding with the whites by nominating some of its white members like Eddie Cross, David Coltart, Ian Kay and Roy Bennett to contest the elections of which these have won the polls when they contested.

Zanu PF has been using that to vilify the MDC-T describing it as the agents of  the west trying to enforce regime change in the country.

MDC-T senior member Job Sikhala said he  was surprised that there are a number of Zimbabweans who are contesting elections in the UK under the banner of the Labour Party.

"The Blackman right in London fighting to be in the council and legislature of a democratic society," he said.

"In our own country we criminalise whites who are 5th generational descendants of those who settled in our country a century and a half ago. I wish those contesting the best of luck!!"
