Kasukuwere, deputy clash

Saviour Kasukuwere, the Zanu-PF political commissar, is reportedly fighting with his deputy Omega Hungwe over candidates for the Harare East by-election.

Sources said that Kasukuwere removed Hungwe from her office for backing Mavis Gumbo to be the party's candidate for Harare East, ahead of Terence Mukupe.

Hungwe was the first senior party official to back Gumbo at one of her rallies, and two days later, Kasukuwere ordered that her office be turned into a boardroom.
