MDC-T senior official Job Sikhala has attacked the MDC Renewal for failing to issue any statements concerning the disappearance of a journalist and politiocal rights activist Itai Dzamara since the time he was abducted in March 9.

Sikhala said Human Rights issues are universal.

"It doesn't matter whether human rights abuses are done against a person of different political station," said Sikhala.

"My colleagues are concerned that when Dzamara was abducted there was total mute from our brothers and sisters from the Renewal. They also said that they said nothing when I was arrested at the Beitbridge Boarder post and kept incommunicado for over 6 hours being driven to Harare under torrential abuse and attack."

Sikhala said they also say that when Hon Costa Machingauta was savaged by ZANU PF thugs, some of them like a Munetsi posted celebration messages that Machingauta was done right and primitively accused him of having gone to provoke Gomwe's terrorist gang in Budiriro.

"But we are desiring a society of equality that embodies plurality and the respect of the rule of law," he said.

"Elton Mangoma's arrest must be condemned in its strongest term. He is accused of having engaged in fraudulent activities when he was the Minister of Energy and Power Development in the inclusive government 3 years ago, why arresting him now after such a long time?"

"Is it that Mangoma is the worst corrupt person we have in our society more than Ignatius Chombo, Obert Mpofu and the like minded thieves? We forget not that he once facing charges of the similar nature when he was the minister and got acquitted. Zimbabwe Lawyers' for Human Rights could not have represented him if in their judgement they truly believed that he committed the offence."

Sikhakla said "Let our battle for Zimbabwe be confined to the court of the public. This issue of arresting each other will not take Zimbabwe anywhere. Let's be careful that no one is safe in Zimbabwe except the Weevils. Anyone who was in the inclusive government might be arrested through trumped up charges of abuse of office. Even the Gamatox is not free. Let's all condemn Human Rights abuses no matter the person's political station!!!!"
