Man kills drinking mate for sleeping in bar

A Masvingo man, Kebias Musariri allegedly killed his drinking mate who had a habit of sleeping at the bar whenever he got drunk.

Musariri had an argument with the late Paul Jamu over his bar-sleeping trend.

Musariri slapped Jamu on the face and fell down but he continued assaulting him and stepped on his neck causing him to choke.

He left him lying unconscious but he died on admission at Gweru Central Hospital.

The incident happened last year and has since appeared in court facing murder charge.
