Riot police block MDC-T demo

A planned economic protest by MDC-T provincial youth assembly in Gweru was today blocked by heavily armed Zimbabwe Republic Police riot squad.

Reports from Gweru indicate Riot police officers, in groups of 10 and armed with batons, tear gas canisters and rifles maintained a watchful eye on the streets.

MDC-T youths had hoped to protest over declining economy and general unemployment the youths face.
