Policeman murdered for attempting to break a fight

A POLICE constable based in Chipinge who tried to stop a scuffle between five unknown assailants and a motorist was murdered in cold blood and his body was found in a bushy area.
A manhunt has been launched for the suspects that murdered Constable Dumisani Tuhwe aged 29.
National police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the death of Tuhwe to Manica Post.
"We confirm the murder of one of our members who was attacked by a group of five while he was trying to intervene between a gang of five and an unknown motorist on Sunday," said Chief Sup Nyathi.
He saw the five people fighting with the motorist and he tried to intervene and stop the fight but the five turned to him and fatally assaulted him. They are still at large and we appeal to members of the public with information leading to their arrest to contact nearest police station,".
The publication said post mortem results revealed that Tuhwe died of serious internal bleeding after he was struck by a strong object.
According to his landlord, Solomon Chikamhi said Tuhwe left home in the morning heading to nearby shops to buy some bread but he never returned home.
"He left home at around 10 am saying he wanted to buy bread at nearby shops. I think he later teamed up with his friends and had some few drinks at Chinheya Shopping Centre.
"He later went to town and had some beer at Dzonzai Complex.
"I later received a phone call at midnight from some police officers notifying me about his death," he said.
