A 29-year-old Nyanga man from Bende Village is searching for answers following last Friday's incident in which his hand miraculously started swelling after sharing a beast with 19 other villagers.
Brian Makanyanga who is now admitted at Nyanga District Hospital is at loss of words to explain how his hand started to grow big while equally sharing the meat among 20 people who bought the beast for $400.
He said he was prickled by bones and started experiencing excruciating pains a day later which resulted in the swelling.
"I immediately gave the remaining meat to my dogs after discovering the development although I had consumed some of it with my family. We usually do this in our village without any problems. I'm suspecting that the cattle could be suffering from a deadly disease affecting the bones or it was stolen."
He however said the other villagers who consumed the meat did not suffer from anything.
The Provincial Veterinary Officer (PVO) Dr. Charles Guri said they will look into the matter.
