Chombo sucked in chiefs' war

Zanu-PF secretary Ignatius Chombo is alleged to be using chiefs and headmen to create a power base within the party.

He is also being accused of using his political muscle to block rivals from taking positions during the on-going restructuring exercise.

Traditional leaders and Zanu-PF officials from Maringambizi district said they have since approached Mugabe to rein in Chombo while they have also written to Political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere highlighting the problem.
