A total of 36 people were injured this morning, six of them seriously when a Harare-bound bus they were travelling in burst a tyre and overturned along the Harare-Nyamapanda road, 23 kilometres from the capital.
The Kabor Transport bus which was coming from Mudzi had 67 people aboard.
The accident occurred at almost the same place where 24 people died in January when a ZUPCO bus and a Pioneer bus were involved in a head on collision.
According to ZBC, the bus burst its right front tyre and veered off the road near the Pig Industry Board.
The driver is said to have lost control of the bus which then overturned trapping the people inside while others were sent sprawling onto the ground due to the impact.
National police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the bus had 65 passengers and two crew members, adding investigations into the real cause of the accident are underway.
The injured people were rushed to Parirenyatwa hospital where the seriously injured are receiving treatment.
