Zimsec withholds O-Level results

The Zimbabwe Examination Council (Zimsec) is yet to release Ordinary Level results for some centres.
The local examination body is not saying when exactly the results will be released.
The 2014 November Ordinary Level results were released on the 6th of February this year and four months down the line some centres which were fingered in the leaking of mathematics and English papers have not yet received their results.
ZIMSEC information and publicity manager Nicholette Dhlamini says the leaking of examination papers is not something that should be taken lightly as the examination board might lose credibility.
"You know what it means if we lose credibility it means all those who wrote their exams under Zimsec will also sing the music because of few individuals," she said.
Zimsec director Esau Nhandara says the body is doing everything in its capacity to ensure the local examinations remain credible.
"We are introducing mechanisms that prevent leaking of papers. As you have seen we have members of different examination boards that we are hosting - it shows the faith and trust that other countries have in us," he said.
Over the years, Zimsec has been rocked by damaging reports of leakage of exam papers.
Insiders say school heads are mostly fingered and officials from the examination body.
