Govt to introduce 30 more tollgates by year end

Transport Minister Obert Mpofu says Government would have opened 30 new tollgates by year end while it has also applied for a $25 million facility from CBZ and IDBZ to resuscitate the road maintenance unit.  

Speaking before a Parly Committee, Mpofu said the move to introduce the tollgates was to increase revenue inflow channels.

Roads authority Zinara is also currently working on completing 10 tollgates and discussions are at an advanced stage on the levying of vehicles in urban centres.
